Youth Series
In conjunction with the Summer Series, we hold a Summer Youth Series that begins an hour before the 5k's. For children 2-12, the youth series is based on fun and everybody "wins". Distances include a 50 yard "lollipop run", a 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile and 1 mile. Any age may run any event. Record your times so race-to-race improvement can be noted. (runners record their own time). Pizza is served after the events.
The 5K After-Party!After the Summer Series 5K races, we party through the awards presentation, with beverages, barbeque, and pizza! Runners and volunteers have a relaxing and fun evening of socializing while we present awards. Some of the more crazy runners often add an additonal 5K on the course after the sun sets! The Summer Series Awards Picnic In September we invite all participants in any of our Summer Series races to our annual Awards Picnic in Donaldson Park. To racing on this day, just food, drink, games and awards. Awards are presented for top teams and for individual age groupers with the fastest 3 races combined in the series.! Until 2007 the RVRR summer cross-country series was held on four summer evenings in Donaldson Park, Highland Park, NJ. In 2007 it moved to Buccleuch Park because Donaldson Park was closed for construction. After rave reviews of the new course and facilities, we have decided to stay in Buccleuch!
